Walmart Marketplace integration and inventory sync

Walmart Marketplace integration connects your Walmart seller account to one Elbuz catalog: items by GTIN, prices calculated with Walmart fees in mind, inventory that follows your warehouse and Walmart orders in your order list.

What the Walmart integration does for a seller

Six jobs that otherwise happen by hand in the Walmart seller account.

Listings from your catalog

Items are built from your catalog cards — GTIN or UPC, title, description, photos, attributes, price and inventory — with categories mapped to Walmart item types. Product data is kept once in the product catalog (PIM) and goes to every channel.

Categories and attributes

Your categories are mapped once to the Walmart category tree, and attributes to its required fields. A product that misses a required field is shown before export, not after a rejection. Walmart identifies items by GTIN/UPC, so products need GS1 codes; private-label and handmade items can request a GTIN exemption from Walmart.

Prices by rules

Each export template takes its own price or calculates it by formula — for example your base price plus a markup that covers the Walmart commission. The catalog and your website keep their own prices. Markup rules.

Stock sync

Inventory and prices go out on the export schedule, so an item that sold out on another channel stops selling on Walmart. Stock comes from your warehouses and supplier price lists.

Orders into your order list

Walmart orders come into the same list as website orders and reserve stock there. From there they are processed like any other order — see order management.

Statuses, countries and accounts

Marketplace order statuses map to your own Elbuz statuses, and shipping details stay on the order. Walmart Marketplace is a US marketplace: prices go in US dollars, and Elbuz converts them from your catalog currency at the current rate.

How it works: one catalog, Walmart as one more channel

Walmart does not need a separate product database: it takes products from the catalog you already keep.

  1. Catalogproducts, prices and stock from suppliers and your warehouse
  2. Walmart templateits own selection, price rule and schedule
  3. Synclistings, prices and stock go out on schedule
  4. Orders backinto the same list as your website orders

The same catalog also feeds your website, other marketplaces and product feeds for Google Shopping, Meta and TikTok.

Elbuz screens: catalog, export templates and orders

Walmart integration FAQ

What do I need to sell on Walmart Marketplace?

A business tax ID that matches IRS records, documents that confirm the business, a track record in ecommerce, GTIN/UPC codes for your products and fulfillment from a US warehouse with returns — your own or Walmart Fulfillment Services.

How does Walmart inventory sync work with other channels?

Inventory lives in one Elbuz catalog. The Walmart export sends it on schedule, so a sale on your website, Amazon or eBay lowers the quantity on Walmart at the next run.

Can I sell on Walmart from outside the US?

Walmart has programs for some countries, but it still requires a US return address and a payment processor. Check the Walmart Marketplace registration guide for your country.

How do I set Walmart prices in dollars when my catalog is in euros?

The export template converts the price at the current exchange rate and can add a markup for Walmart fees. Your catalog price stays as it is.

Do Walmart items need a UPC?

Yes, a GTIN or UPC from GS1. Private-label and handmade items can request an exemption from Walmart.
