YouTube for Android TV: Updated sidebar interface for better user experience
YouTube update for Android TV: New sidebar menu animation with redesigned navigation.
YouTube update
New animation when accessing the menu
The YouTube app for Android TV has received an update interface with new animation when opening the side menu panel. When accessed, a smooth animation is displayed where section headings slide up and the current tab moves to the right. Previously, animation simply moved the field of view with icons and text descriptions.
Changed menu design
In the updated version, the sidebar is smaller and initially shows only main sections: Search, Home, Music, Movies & TV and More. To access additional options, you must use the remote control. Additionally, the redesign includes rounded corners and smoother sections instead of sharp edges, bringing the look closer to the Material You style.
Visual changes
Each side menu item now stands out slightly from the main background, and the distance between floating switches increased. The icons remain unchanged. These changes do not affect the functionality of the YouTube sidebar when viewed on Android TV.

These visual updates to YouTube for Android TV may seem small, but they actually improve the experience of using the app. Animated transitions look smoother and more modern. 💯

I like that they are slowly introducing the Material You style. Rounded corners and soft colors make the interface more attractive. But the main thing is that this does not reduce ease of use. 🤞

As an Nvidia Shield TV owner, I noticed these changes just the other day. The side menu looks more organized, although some items are hidden at the beginning. I hope they improve the navigation over time. 🤖

I'm an old-fashioned foodie and all this fancy stuff doesn't interest me. The main thing is that the video loads quickly and does not slow down! 😠

Grzegorz, don't be such a grumbler! 😄 Design changes make the application more convenient for new users. I agree that performance is important, but appearance matters too.

I completely agree, Thomas! I was pleased that the icons still remained recognizable, they were just slightly modernized. Hopefully these visual updates will spread across all YouTube platforms. 🤩

As a tech lover, I'm looking forward to YouTube going all Material You. This will make the design more consistent across all devices. But updates are happening gradually, which is reasonable. 💻
