The draft law concerning the digitization of the army: the main changes
It is known that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine shared information about making significant amendments to draft law No. 10062, which relates to improving the process of processing and using data in state registries for military registration and obtaining the status of a war veteran during martial law. This draft law received the support of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on January 16.
The main changes envisaged by the draft law:
- Cloud services. Ukraine will be able to place its IT systems in the cloud space of NATO member countries. This will help strengthen cyber defense, open access to intelligence partners and reduce the number of critical infrastructure objects that require additional Software (Software).
- "Amulet". The draft law provides for improving the interaction between the registers and expanding the list of information on conscripts. This will allow faster filling of the "Amulets" without unnecessary bureaucracy. Citizens will no longer need to collect a large number of documents for social service centers: information such as full-time education or disability data will already be included in the register.
- Electronic office of a conscript. Citizens will have the opportunity to change their personal data, in particular, information about education and knowledge of foreign languages.
- UBD (Combatant). Military personnel will be able to submit an electronic application for the status of a participant in hostilities, a person with a disability as a result of the war, or a family member of a deceased Defender.
The Ministry of Defense intends to digitize three main areas - the register of conscripts ("Oberig"), data on servicemen and the register of veterans.
