Ihor Mazepa commented on his detention and asked for bail in the amount of UAH 700 million
"They demand a bail of UAH 700 million": Ihor Mazepa shared his comments about his detention. The founder of the investment company Concorde Capital commented on the situation in which he was accused of alienating the lands of the Kyiv Hydroelectric Plant. In his statement, Mazepa emphasized that the case is related to illegal actions and not Russian traces, which were claimed during his detention. In particular, Ihor Mazepa noted that he is accused of allocating a plot of land with an area of 2.4 hectares, and this operation, according to the investigation, caused a loss of UAH 7 million. Mazepa, however, denies that he had any influence over the allocation of the land plots and has no answers as to who was actually responsible for the wrongdoing. According to the businessman, prosecutors demand that Ihor Mazepa and his brother pay bail in the amount of UAH 700 million and another UAH 500 million, respectively. This high amount, according to Mazepa, is unfair, especially in the case when the claimed damages amount to only 7 million hryvnias. On January 19, a court hearing regarding a preventive measure for Ihor Mazepa began. The defense asked for time to collect documents that would confirm the integrity of the businessman, and is also trying to find out the details of the case with colleagues at Concorde Capital. However, the court refused to grant this request, as a result of which the defense announced a retreat.
