How to enter the EU market and get a grant for trademark registration?
This grant program helps Ukrainian entrepreneurs to register a trademark in the EU and receive compensation of up to 75% of registration costs. It simplifies entry to the European market and promotes business development.

The European Commission launched the SME Fund 2024 program, which gives enable small and medium-sized businesses to receive a grant for the registration of intellectual property objects. The goal of the initiative is to increase understanding of the value of intellectual property as an intangible asset, to promote the development of IP culture and the involvement of Ukrainian entrepreneurs in the global economic market.
Amount of compensation
The program provides compensation in the amount of:
- 75% of fees for registration of trademarks and industrial designs in EU countries (no more than 1000 euros);
- 50% of fees for international registration of trademarks and industrial designs through WIPO;
- 75% of patent registration fees in national offices and EPO (not more than 3,500 euros).

The amount of compensation depends on the number of classes of goods and services for which the trademark is registered:
- for one class – 637 euros;

Requirements for participants
To participate in the SME Fund 2024 program, the following documents must be submitted:
- an extract from the registration of a sole proprietorship or a legal entity;
- certificate on opening a bank account in euros.
Procedure for receiving a grant
- Submission of documents for receiving a grant.
- Review of documents by the fund (about 15 working days).
- Grant confirmation.
- Submission of an application for trademark registration.
- Payment of compensation by the fund to the applicant's account (approximately 30 days from the moment of application submission).
Number of brands
The maximum grant compensation per person is 1000 euros. Accordingly, if EUR 637 is compensated for one trademark, EUR 363 will be compensated for the second trademark.
