X (Twitter) launches passkey authentication worldwide for iOS users
X (Twitter) has made digital key authentication available globally to iPhone users, offering a more secure alternative to traditional passwords.
Passkeys
Enhanced authentication security
Social platform X has expanded the use of passkeys, an alternative authentication method, to iPhone owners Worldwide. Previously, this feature was only available to iOS users in the US. The access keys option is designed to enhance account security by avoiding the risks associated with the use of passwords.
Secure Identification
Access keys are considered a more secure technology because they are resistant to data interception and social engineering during authorization. Instead of entering a password, the user creates a pair of unique keys, one of which is stored locally on the device, and the second is stored by the service. To confirm your identity, these keys must match, eliminating the possibility of credential theft.
In-app activation
To use passkeys in X, iOS users should go to section "Settings and privacy" of your account, then select "Security and account access" and activate the "Access key" option in the "Advanced password protection" section.
Android support
Unfortunately, there is no information yet on X's plans to introduce passkey support for Android device users.

It's great that X has expanded support for app login keys to the rest of the world! 🔐 This will definitely improve the security of our data.

I'm also happy about this innovation. Access keys are much more secure than traditional passwords and cannot be stolen through phishing attacks. 🔒 Now you can safely use the social network without fear.

It's a pity that this feature is only available for iOS for now; I would like to see it on Android as well. 😕 I hope X quickly corrects this oversight.
Катя
I agree with @Victor, it would be great if access keys became available for Android users. But it's already nice that X is working to improve security. 👍🏼

I don't understand all the fuss about access keys. 🙄 In my opinion, good old passwords do the job just fine, as long as you don’t be stupid and use simple combinations.
Екатерина
Oh, @Yan, you're just retrograde! 😆 Modern technologies are designed to make our lives easier and safer. Why not take advantage of access keys?
Андрей
I'm more concerned about the privacy issue. 🤔 How can we be sure that X will not misuse our biometric data, which is used to verify identity during authorization?
София
Oh, @Andrey raises an interesting point. Indeed, it is worth considering the potential risks associated with transmitting sensitive data such as fingerprints or facial scans. 🧐
Ян
Why are you all talking about these keys! 😒 In my opinion, this is another fashion trend that everyone will forget in a couple of years. It's better not to touch what already works.
Иван
Hmm, maybe @Ian is right. 🤔 Sometimes we adopt new technologies too hastily without thinking about the consequences. But overall, the access keys look promising.
Мария
I can't wait to try this feature out on my iPhone! 📲 I hope the setup process will be intuitive.
Павел
By the way, what about the compatibility of access keys with other services besides X? 🤔 It will be great if other popular platforms adopt this technology.
Анастасия
I fully support the implementation of access keys! 👏 This is a huge step forward in the field of cybersecurity. Even if problems cannot be avoided, the main thing is to keep up with the times.
Алексей
Eh, access keys are, of course, good. 💭 But I am more concerned about the problem of excessive use of social networks by teenagers. @X maybe you could focus on this issue better?
