Fallout terminal
Interface brought to life
Enthusiast Rick (@r1ckp) brought to life a functional copy of the iconic terminal from the Fallout universe based on Raspberry Pi. This project brings the recognizable element of the post-apocalyptic world into reality, recreating the atmosphere of the game with amazing accuracy.
Authentic design
The terminal replica impresses with its attention to detail. Its appearance is exactly the same as the original, including scuffs, rust spots and rounded edges. The LCD screen is hidden behind a Fresnel lens, giving the effect of volume and creating the illusion of an antique monitor.
Smart Assistant
However, this terminal is not just a museum piece. It functions as an interactive text assistant integrated into a smart home system. The user can give commands to control lighting and other functions, immersing himself in the atmosphere of a post-apocalyptic world.
Technical Solutions
The project is based on a Raspberry Pi 400 connected to a 7-inch Waveshare touchscreen via HDMI. The body was designed from the ground up in CAD and 3D printed from durable PETG plastic, then sanded and distressed for an authentic look.

Yes, very cool work! 🤩 I wonder if it was difficult to recreate such an antique look of the case? I think this is the most difficult part of the project.

I’m wondering how convenient it is to use such a terminal in everyday life. 🤔 Isn’t the interface too old-fashioned for modern tasks?
Катрин
Well, I think the creator could adapt the interface to his needs. The main thing is that it is functional and easy to use. And the retro style is just the highlight of the project! 😉
