Japanese tech giant Sony Electronics is integrating the popular messenger Discord directly into the operating system of its gaming console PlayStation 5: With this new feature, gamers will be able to join Discord voice chats without leaving the console.
New features
After installing the update, users will have access to the Discord tab in the PS5 control menu . Here you can select the desired server or group for communication. The update will also add notifications for incoming calls from Discord, allowing you to instantly join the conversation.
Phased launch
Sony is gradually rolling out Discord integration in different regions. PlayStation 5 owners in Japan and Asia will be the first to receive the new feature. This will be followed by Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, and finally North America.
