In Ukraine, the selection of educational institutions has begun for the creation of an experimental network of support for startups and innovations on the basis of universities in order to promote the commercialization of scientific developments and attract investments.

Competitive selection
In the Ukrainian state the competitive selection of higher educational institutions and research institutions for the formation of an experimental network "startup school — incubator — accelerator" began. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Selection criteria
The Ministry of Education and Science will select six institutions that will meet the following four requirements:
- Availability of commercially effective research and scientific and technical projects;
- Functioning of innovative infrastructure;
- Experience of cooperation with the business environment;
- The potential for the development of the startup ecosystem, taking into account the state's priorities.
Submission of applications
You can submit documents for participation in the selection through the National Electronic Scientific Information system at the link here. Applications will be accepted until 12:00 on July 31, 2024.
Financing of the project
This project will be financed from a special fund of the state budget. The funds are provided as an external aid tool of the European Union for Ukraine to fulfill its obligations in the Horizon 2020 Framework Program.
Purpose of the network
- The network of startup schools will contribute to the testing of scientific projects, search and attraction of investors , as well as providing financial support at the initial stage of startup development.
- Principle of operation: if students have an idea for a startup during their studies, they will be able to start it immediately on the university base realization Scientists will have the opportunity to create a startup based on scientific results and receive support for its scaling.
- According to the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, this project should strengthen the cooperation of students and scientists with private innovation infrastructures, in particular venture funds, and increase the share of innovative products in Ukraine.
