With the spread of artificial intelligence (AI) in various industries, Ukraine is quickly becoming a center for the development of AI technologies and companies in Central and Eastern Europe.

Leading positions
In the Central and Eastern European region, our state ranks second in the number of companies, working in the field of artificial intelligence. According to a study by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, AI HOUSE and Roosh, there are more than 240 firms in Ukraine that are involved in the creation and implementation of AI solutions.
Successful startups
Among domestic AI companies, well-known startups Grammarly, Preply and People.ai. Two of them – Grammarly and People.ai – in recent years have entered the prestigious club of "unicorns" (startups with a valuation of more than $1 billion). The combined valuation of the three largest Ukrainian AI startups (Grammarly, Preply and People.ai) exceeds $14.5 billion.
Personnel development
One of the main factors contributing to the growth of the domestic AI industry is the increase in the number of specialists in this field. According to the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, over the last decade the number of AI specialists in Ukraine has increased 5 times to 5,200 people. Their number is expected to increase by another 330% in the next few years.
Educational initiatives
In order to prepare a powerful pool of AI specialists, 106 educational programs in this field have already been opened in Ukraine. At the same time, Minister Fedorov emphasizes that a key step for strengthening expertise should be the establishment of cooperation between universities and AI companies, which will allow students to gain practical skills and experience.
