New Battery Health feature in iPad Air and iPad Pro: Cycle monitoring and charge limiting
The new iPad Air and iPad Pro tablets now include the ability to monitor battery health and wear, with additional features previously only available on iPhone.
Battery monitoring
“Battery status” menu
A special “Battery status” menu is now available in the settings of the new iPads, which displays current data about the device’s battery. Here you can find out the current "Battery Status" indicator, its maximum capacity, the number of charge-discharge cycles and the ability to limit the charge to 80% of the full capacity.
Additional information
In addition to the basic parameters, the menu provides additional information about the battery production date and first use of the device. This data allows you to monitor battery wear and promptly replace it at an authorized service center.
Charge limit to 80%
The feature to limit the maximum charge to 80% was previously available only on iPhone. It is designed to reduce battery wear, since constant charging to 100% wears out the battery faster. Now this feature has been implemented on the new generation iPad Air and iPad Pro tablets.

It's high time we added this feature to the iPad! 🙌 Now I can better control the condition of the battery and extend its life.

I agree, this is a very useful feature. Especially for those who often use a tablet on the road or at work. 💻 You can now manage battery charging more efficiently.

By the way, did you know that limiting charging to 80% can significantly extend battery life? 💡 This seems like a little secret that few people know about.
Елена
Yes, I read about it. 📚 Constantly fully charging the battery can accelerate its wear. Limiting charging to 80% helps preserve battery capacity for longer.

Well, I don't understand all this fuss about batteries. 😒 In my time, gadgets worked until they sat down, and no one complained. All these fashionable things are for weaklings!
Анна
Oh, Nikolai, don't be such a grump! 🙃 Technologies are developing and we must keep up with the times. The battery monitoring feature is very convenient, especially for those who work a lot on the tablet.
Михаил
But I’m wondering why it took so long for this feature to be added to the iPad? 🤔 After all, it has been present in the iPhone for a long time. Or did Apple specifically keep it as an exclusive for smartphones?
Ирина
Maybe they were just testing it on an iPhone to make sure it was reliable and effective. 💡 And now that everything has been checked, we decided to extend it to tablets. In any case, better late than never!
