In 2023, 32 IT companies in Ukraine hired 2,920 newcomers, with the largest number of newcomers hired by Genesis, ZONE3000, Netpeak Group, Ajax and EPAM.

Growth of product companies
Last year, among the companies surveyed, the number of product companies, each of which hired more than a hundred newcomers. Typically, such companies need specialists in non-technical areas such as marketing, analytics, management and HR, while service firms focus on hiring technical talent.
Hiring Leaders
Genesis tops the list for the number of juniors hired in 2023, hiring 490 entry-level specialists. It is followed by ZONE3000 with 400 newcomers, Netpeak Group with 313 and Ajax Systems with more than 300 new employees. EPAM hired 211 juniors, and SoftServe hired 80% of juniors through its own educational programs and collaboration with universities.
Popular areas
The most popular areas for hiring juniors in 2023 were support, development , testing and marketing. Compared to the previous year, companies were more active in hiring entry-level specialists in the fields of marketing, management and sales.
Plans for 2024
Half of the companies surveyed have modest plans to hire juniors in 2024 or no plans to hire juniors. However, there are also those who intend to hire a significant number of new specialists: seven companies plan to hire up to 50 new juniors, and another eight - more than 50.

Yes, they need to be guided, but after a couple of years they are already valuable employees with excellent experience. So it’s no wonder that companies spend so much on training them!
