The leading domestic IT firm Intellias, which unites more than 2000 specialists, signed the first official agreement on the Japanese market with Zenrin. This will allow it to master a new segment estimated at $70 billion, Forbes reports. The cooperation involves the development and support of LBS products, including mapping services for municipalities, delivery and other services. The company already has experience in creating mapping solutions for the automotive industry, Facebook and Alibaba.
Reasons for entering the Japanese market
Entry into the Japanese market is due to the desire to overcome the consequences of the crisis in the Ukrainian IT industry, which caused an almost 8.5% reduction in service exports in 2023. According to Oleksandr Odukha, Intellias vice president for project implementation, it has become more difficult to attract new clients in Ukraine, and the number of contracts has decreased. The Japanese market is seen as an opportunity for the development of a successful business, scaling up activities and increasing the visibility of the company.

Specialists emphasize the features of the Japanese market related to mental and language barriers. However, Intellias is counting on its experience, partnership with Zenrin and the possible opening of a local office to overcome these difficulties.
