UNITED24 and monobank have joined forces to hold a charity collection for the benefit of Kyiv Children's Hospital "Okhmatdyt". According to the information made public by Oleg Horohovskyi, co-owner of mono, the campaign was extremely successful - in 22 hours it was possible to collect 250 million hryvnias.
Scale of participation
More than 250 thousand people and organizations took part in the meeting. The initial goal of 100 million hryvnias was reached in the first three hours, after which it was decided to continue the collection. Among the big donors, IT companies stood out: Netpeak Group donated 2 million hryvnias, Grammarly - 20 million, and BetterMe - 1 million.
Technical difficulties
During the collection, there were some technical problems with the system, which, according to Horochovsky, led to a short-term failure. However, within half an hour, the malfunction was fixed and fundraising resumed.
Consequences of the attack on "Okhmatdit"
On the morning of July 9, emergency rescue operations on the territory of "Okhmatdyt" were completed after a missile attack by Russian troops. The attack killed two adults, including a hospital doctor. 32 injured people sought medical help, of which 8 children were hospitalized with injuries.
Scale of destruction
The missile strike completely destroyed the toxicology department and damaged four more buildings. Numerous departments were affected, including surgical, oncological, somatic, as well as intensive care units, operating units and the country's only oncology and hematology laboratory. The children were evacuated to other capital hospitals.
Investigation of the attack
According to the SBU, the attack on "Okhmatdyt" was carried out by an X-101 missile. Experts concluded that the attack on the children's hospital was targeted.
General situation
The attack on "Okhmatdyt" was part of a massive missile attack on Ukraine on July 8, during which more than 40 missiles of different types. Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk were affected. 31 people died in the capital, 117 were injured. 11 dead and 64 injured were recorded in Dnipropetrovsk region. July 9 has been declared the Day of Mourning in Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih.
