Pilot project to restore communication
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the French InfraNum Federation signed a memorandum on partnership, which involves the allocation of a grant in the amount of €756,000. These funds will be directed to the launch of a pilot project to restore the Internet and communication in the frontline communities of Ukraine, which were destroyed as a result of the military aggression of the Russian Federation.
Preliminary damage analysis
Before the reconstruction works, a thorough survey and analysis of the damage will be carried out telecommunication infrastructure in the specified communities. This will allow to determine the scope of necessary repair and restoration measures.
Large-scale reconstruction of electronic communications
According to the World Bank, for the complete reconstruction and restoration of electronic communications in Ukraine will need at least $4.67 billion over 10 years. Therefore, attracting a grant from InfraNum is only the beginning of a long-term process of rebuilding the destroyed communication infrastructure.
Further funding from French telecom
The Ministry of Digital Affairs plans to attract additional grants and investments from French telecommunications companies to rebuild the Ukrainian telecom network. This will help speed up the recovery of important infrastructure and ensure reliable communication for citizens.
