TP-Link Archer BE3600: Affordable Wi-Fi 7 router for $99
TP-Link introduces an affordable Wi-Fi 7 router, offering high-speed connectivity at an attractive price.
Affordable Wi-Fi 7
A Pricing Revolution
Currently, the market for Wi-Fi 7 routers is characterized by high prices. Premium models can cost up to $800, with Mesh systems reaching the $1,000 mark. However, TP-Link is changing things up by introducing the Archer BE3600 (also known as the Archer BE230 in some markets) for the amazingly low price of $99.
Specifications
The new product from TP-Link promises total Wi-Fi speeds of up to 3600 Mbit/s. When operating in the 5 GHz band, the device is capable of providing speeds of up to 2882 Mbps, and in the 2.4 GHz band - up to 688 Mbps. Notably, the 5 GHz band supports channel widths of up to 240 MHz, although most devices are typically limited to 160 MHz.
Features and Limitations
The Archer BE3600 is a dual-band router and does not support the 6GHz band, which partly explains its affordable price. Despite this, the device is equipped with modern features such as Multi-Link Operation (MLO). The router is based on a SoC from Broadcom.
Advanced connectivity
TP-Link Archer BE3600 is equipped with two Ethernet ports with a speed of 2.5 Gbps, which was previously typical for devices twice the price. Additionally, there are three ports with a throughput of 1 Gbit/s. The presence of a USB 3.0 port allows you to connect an external drive and use it as network storage.

Wow, Wi-Fi 7 for $99? This is a breakthrough! 🚀 I thought such technologies would only be available in a couple of years. Well done TP-Link for making high speeds accessible to ordinary users.
Hans
Yes, Isabella, the price is impressive! But I'm more interested in practical applications. I wonder how noticeable the difference in speed will be for the average user? 🤔
Amélie
Hans, I think the difference will be noticeable when downloading large files or streaming 4K videos. It may also reduce latency in online games. Although, of course, a lot depends on the speed of the Internet connection.
Carlos
Guys, I was impressed by the 2.5 Gbps ports! 🔌 This is a great opportunity for a home NAS or media server. Plus USB 3.0 for connecting an external drive - very convenient.
Viktor
Blah blah blah, another useless toy. Wi-Fi 6 has just appeared, and Wi-Fi 7 is already being promoted. Who needs these super speeds? Movies download normally, and the good old cable is enough for work. Throwing money away!
Isabella
Viktor, I understand your skepticism, but technology does not stand still. These speeds may seem excessive now, but in a couple of years they will become the norm. Remember how we lived with dial-up 😊
Hans
I agree with Isabella. Also, Carlos made a great point about the ports. This truly opens up new possibilities for your home network. And the price of $99 makes the device affordable even for those who are not chasing new products.
Amélie
I'm wondering how MLO will affect the stability of the connection? 🤓 If it actually improves performance in busy Wi-Fi environments, it will be a huge plus for offices and coworking spaces.
