Testing the speed of processing price lists (prices) by the E-Trade PriceList Importer program
The program analyzer of price lists (prices) E-Trade PriceList Importer in the process of commercial use was seriously revised and debugged to work on real volumetric tasks of trading companies in the CIS countries.
Thanks to the operation of the program in real conditions, not only the speed of the program itself was significantly increased, but also the work with supplier price lists was facilitated.
One of the factors affecting the speed of processing price lists of suppliers is the power of the processor and the amount / speed of memory. This is due to the fact that when importing products from the supplier's price list, the information is first copied to the computer's RAM and processed there according to the specified rules. This innovation made it possible to achieve a significant increase in the speed of processing price lists of suppliers with different data structures. Please note that in some similar price list processing programs, the import occurs line by line from the MS Excel file, thereby greatly slowing down the entire price list processing process.
For example, let's take several price lists of different sizes and import them into the E-Trade PriceList Importer program.
We will process price lists on a computer with the following configuration:
- processor AMD Athlon 62 X2 Dual Core 5000+ 2. 60 GHz;
- RAM 2 GB;
- hard drive SATA WD 160 GB 7200 cache 8 MB;
- operating system Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3;
- Microsoft Excel 2003 SP3
- the anti-virus program Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 (version 8. 0. 0. 422) was installed in the system.
Speed test results:
Price list №1 Volume: 8 columns; 7351 product lines. Price list №2 Volume: 9 columns; 11592 product lines. Price list №3 Volume: 15 columns; 9786 product lines. | Price list №4 Volume: average 15 columns; 10 sheets; 2278 product lines. Price list №5 Volume: 12 columns; 5585 product lines. |
When loading an already imported price list, the product identification process (automatic comparison of the product) with the products in the accounting system (online store) takes place.
Attention! In 2019, a new price analyzer program E-Trade Jumper appeared, the speed of work became 318 times higher!
