TCL Showcases a Wide Range of Innovative Displays at Display Week 2024 technologies to create advanced displays. Among the presented developments are HVA, HFS, MLED, MLCD, FMM OLED and IJP OLED panels. In addition, visitors were able to see the 85-inch w-HVA Pro screen, the world's first 7.85-inch tandem triple screen, 14-inch 2.8K inkjet hybrid OLED display, CR 4000:1 HFS monitor, 16- inch 8K laptop display, 14-inch Ln-Oxide MUX 1:3 display, and a slim 6.9mm 57-inch monitor.
Record refresh rate
However, the main premiere was the world's first monitor with a 4K refresh rate 1000 Hz. Today's fastest monitors on the market feature TN panels with a 540Hz refresh rate and have relatively low resolution due to technological limitations. At the same time, DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 mode is theoretically capable of delivering refresh rates up to 884 Hz at 1080p resolution without the need for data stream compression. And with DSC 3.0 compression technology, the bandwidth requirement to achieve 540Hz at 1080p drops to 15.5Gbps, well within the available bandwidth of 77.3Gbps (UHBR20).
Photorealistic visual experience
Although in practice achieving such high frame rates with existing hardware provision is almost impossible, modern video cards make it possible to implement this thanks to frame adding modes. TCL's goal with this display was to provide a photorealistic visual experience using state-of-the-art gaming engines and 10 to 1 frame generation technology.
