Visit of the Minister of Digitalization of Poland
In May 2023, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitalization of Poland Krzysztof Gavkovskyi visited Kyiv on a working visit. During the meeting with the Ukrainian colleague Mykhailo Fedorov, a memorandum on cooperation in the digital field between the two countries was signed.
Starlink for Ukraine
One of the priorities of Polish aid is to provide Ukraine with Starlink systems for high-speed internet connection. So far, Poland has financed more than 20,000 such terminals, which provide access to the network for the military, hospitals and other important infrastructure facilities. Poland plans to continue financing the Starlink subscription for Ukraine.
Cyber security and data protection
Krzysztof Havkowski emphasized the importance of cooperation in the field of cyber security and data protection. Poland and Ukraine closely cooperate in this direction, in particular, by blocking the access of Russian special services to critical servers. The signed memorandum envisages the expansion of cooperation in matters of digital protection, data storage and Internet access.
Support of Ukrainian IT specialists
The Polish IT ecosystem has been significantly strengthened by the arrival of many Ukrainian startups and IT specialists since the start of the full-scale war. Poland creates favorable conditions for their work, providing access to EU funds and providing support to local and foreign companies. At the same time, about 47% of Ukrainian startups plan to return to Ukraine, which will help the recovery of the economy.

The mObywatel mobile app in Poland is a really cool example of digital citizenship. It would be great if something similar was introduced in Ukraine on the basis of the already existing "Action". 📲

Um, all this new stuff is good, but aren't we relying too much on digital technology? What if someone hacks the systems or there is a crash? I prefer the good old paper bureaucracy, it is more reliable. 😒

In addition to the technical aspect, it is also important to increase the digital literacy of the population. People need to understand the benefits and risks of digital tools in order to use them effectively. I wonder if any joint initiatives in this direction are planned? 👩💻
