The American space agency FAA has given SpaceX permission for the fourth test launch of the Starship super-heavy rocket. The launch is scheduled for June 6 from the spaceport in Texas.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has given SpaceX the green light to conduct another test flight of the Starship launch vehicle. The fourth test launch of this ambitious super-heavy system is scheduled for Thursday, June 6. The launch should take place from SpaceX's Starbase launch site, located near the Gulf Coast in South Texas.
The FAA's official statement states that SpaceX has met all safety and other conditions to receive a test launch license.
Large-scale project
Starship is being developed by SpaceX as a fully reusable super-heavy launch vehicle for future expeditions to the Moon, Mars and beyond the solar system. When fully assembled, the rocket reaches a majestic height of nearly 122 meters, making it the largest and most powerful space system in rocket history.
The Starship project attracted close attention from NASA, which selected the system as a lander to carry astronauts on the Artemis 3 mission to the lunar south pole in 2026.
Previous Tests
Before heading to the Moon, SpaceX must successfully launch Starship into Earth orbit. To date, the company has made three attempts to test launch the system:
- The first test launch in April 2023 ended in failure and the destruction of the SpaceX launch pad, as well as the rocket itself.
- The second attempt in November 2023 was also unsuccessful; the rocket failed to enter space.
- The most successful was the third test launch on March 18, 2024, when Starship reached outer space for the first time. However, the rocket and its super-heavy booster were subsequently lost before reaching their final targets.
This time, SpaceX has high hopes for the fourth test launch, which is scheduled for 15:00 Kyiv time. There is a 120-minute launch window for launch.
