Radar features
Amber-1800 mobile ground radar stations are the result of Ukrainian-Lithuanian cooperation. They are produced by the company Altimus-tech, formerly known as LiTak-Tak, founded by people from the Ukrainian enterprise Aerotekhnika-MLT. These radars operate in the VHF range (140-180 MHz) and automatically determine the range, azimuth and trajectory of air targets.
The system consists of a control cabin with equipment and a wheeled platform with an antenna complex, electrical equipment and a deployment system. Detection range depends on altitude and transmitter power:
- At 100 m altitude: 30 km (8 kW), 33 km (10 kW), 46 km (30 kW)
- At an altitude of 500 m: 60 km (8 kW), 69 km (10 kW), 93 km (30 kW)
- At an altitude of 1 km: 70 km (8 kW), 81 km (10 kW), 108 km (30 kW)
- At an altitude of 3 km: 110 km (8 kW), 122 km (10 kW), 170 km (30 kW)
- At an altitude of 10 km: 300 km (8 kW), 360 km (10 kW), 400 km (30 kW)
Application in Ukraine
In Ukraine, these radars are well known under the name "Yantar-1800". They are produced by the Aerotechnika-MLT company, mounted on KrAZ chassis or semi-trailers. In 2019, they were successfully tested at a test site in the Kherson region.

It’s cool that Lithuania supports Ukraine with such advanced radars. The detection range of up to 400 km at an altitude of 10 km is impressive! 🚀 This will seriously increase the combat effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense.

Yes, I agree! 💯 Plus the radars are mobile, which means they can be quickly moved along the front. In general, a good resource for protecting the Ukrainian sky.

Phew, again these meaningless toys for war... 😒 In my time, we just got by with binoculars and common sense, so we fought like human beings. Current technology only takes lives.

Don’t tell me, Grandpa Stanislav 😉 New technologies are designed to minimize losses. The better the reconnaissance and air defense, the fewer casualties on both sides. This is modernization, not militarism.

I agree with Pierre. 👌 Radars are defensive weapons. They will not harm civilians, but will allow them to detect air threats in time and shoot down enemy missiles. Overall, this will strengthen the security of Ukraine.
