Mission Possible: Investments up to $25,000 for Ukrainian startups
Ukraine's Mission Possible program has announced its second set of startups, offering investment and international experience. The program is aimed at supporting early projects and cooperation with well-known partners.
New opportunities for startups
Launch of the second set
The Mission Possible venture program in Ukraine has started recruiting participants for the second wave of support for early-stage startups. This initiative is open to both individual entrepreneurs and formed teams who have an innovative idea or a minimum viable product (MVP).
Affiliate network
According to Svyat Svyatnenko, head of Mission Possible, INNOV8 - Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the prestigious Saïd Business School of Oxford University and the dynamic startup community LIFT99 Kyiv Hub have joined the program's partner network.
New program components
Compared to the previous set, this year's program has been enriched with two key elements:
Investment component. Program participants get the opportunity to raise up to $25,000 in investment in exchange for a 5% stake in the startup. Half of this share (2.5%) is provided for participation in the program, and the other half - for additional financing of the most promising projects.
International aspect. Part of the training will take place in the Estonian LIFT99 hub in Tallinn, and project presentations (demo days) will take place in the Kyiv and Berlin branches of LIFT99.
Practical approach
Svyatnenko emphasizes the practical orientation of the program: "We focus two-thirds of our program on hands-on learning so participants can effectively develop their products. Our approach is inspired by Y Combinator and other successful accelerators."
Terms and conditions of participation
Submission of applications continues until September 15, and the start of the program is scheduled for mid-October.
Target audience
The program is aimed at various categories of participants:
Specialists with technical and engineering education, enthusiasts in the field of technology and artificial intelligence;
Entrepreneurs seeking to move into the technology sector;
Experienced serial entrepreneurs;
Ambitious students and scientists;
Leaders with experience working in startups, ready for an independent path;
Professionals with deep industry knowledge.
Focus Extension
Unlike the first set, this time, Mission Possible expands the circle of participants, attracting not only CEOs, but also technical co-founders of startups (CTOs, CPOs, etc.).
"We noticed that the involvement of technical co-founders significantly increases the value of the project. Therefore, in the next programs, we will invite them together with the founders to work together," - the head of the program emphasizes.
Results of the first cohort
The first program participants completed their studies in the summer of 2024. Healthcare, FinTech, Wellness, AI, EdTech and others with different business models were presented among the startup areas: B2B2C, B2B, B2C, SaaS.
Updated 11:48, September 3. Fixed the amount of the proposed investment from incorrect ($20,000) to correct ($25,000).

It's great that Mission Possible is expanding! 🚀 It is especially interesting that there is now an international component with demo days in Berlin. This can open many doors for Ukrainian startups.
Marco
I agree, Olena! The international aspect is a big plus. But I was more interested in the opportunity to receive up to $25,000 in investment. This can really help in the early stages. 💰
Natalia
I am impressed that they are practice oriented like Y Combinator. This is very valuable for startups - not just theory, but real experience of building a product. And it's great that technical co-founders are involved! 👨💻👩💻

Wow, I didn't know about LIFT99 in Tallinn! I wonder how this will affect the networking of the participants. Estonia is known for its startup ecosystem. 🇪🇪 Maybe this is a chance to enter the European market?
Viktor
Well, another accelerator... What's so special about it? All these programs are the same - they promise a lot, but at the output - a stunner. And in general, why give 2.5% equity for some promises? It is better to develop the business yourself.
Sophia
Viktor, I understand your skepticism, but I do not agree. Such programs provide invaluable experience and connections. And 2.5% is not so much for the opportunity to accelerate development and receive support. Personally, I would try! 😊
Marco
Sophia, totally agree! And it is also important that they focus on different industries - from FinTech to AI. This shows that the program is open to innovation in various areas. Who knows, maybe the next Ukrainian unicorn will come out of here? 🦄
Olena
By the way, does anyone know how the startups from the first set did? 🤔 It would be interesting to learn about their successes or challenges. This could provide a better understanding of the effectiveness of the program.
