Mass blocking of Apple ID: what happened and how to solve the problem
One day in April, many owners of Apple devices encountered problems with their Apple ID accounts; they had to reset their passwords and re-authorize into the company's services.
Problems with Apple ID
Massive system outages
On April 27, Apple device users around the world encountered unexpected problems when logging into your Apple ID accounts. The company's security systems suddenly required many to reset their passwords, some even having to enter their iPhone passwords to connect to the iCloud cloud service. Those who had their device anti-theft feature turned on were forced to wait about an hour before they could log back into their accounts.
No comments from the company
Apple itself remained silent about the incident and did not cover it in official messages. However, one user of the social network Mastodon said that the support team explained the sudden failures to “random security improvements” that are added to accounts from time to time. There was evidence on Reddit that tech support was notifying some users that their passwords had changed. Some also had to reset passwords on third-party apps linked to their Apple ID, and some were told to simply reset their password.
New security feature
Mac developer Michael Tsai, who encountered this problem, suggested that the crashes may have been caused by a new Apple security feature called Stolen Device Protection. It is designed to protect the iCloud accounts of iPhone owners in the event of their smartphones being stolen. Because of it, Tsai had to wait an hour before he could reset his settings.
On the same day, the author of this article received a strange letter from Apple asking him to register an Apple ID account at the specified email address, although he does not use the company's products.

It seems to me that Apple was just doing an unscheduled security update for the accounts. 🤔 Although the situation is unpleasant, it is still better than if they were hacked by hackers.

Yeah, it was a real headache! 😩 I couldn't log into my account for over an hour. But now I feel safer, because Apple has strengthened its protection against data theft.

It's a little annoying when a company doesn't give advance notice of such major security changes. 😕 But overall, I’m glad that they care about our safety.

These sudden changes are a complete mess! 😡 I spent a lot of time trying to regain access to my accounts. Apple should have warned us in advance!

I think this is a really interesting new anti-device theft feature. 🤓 It will help protect our data in case the phone falls into the wrong hands. Well done Apple!

I heard that some people were unable to access their accounts for several hours. 😰 I hope Apple will be more transparent about such security updates in the future.

Stop praising Apple, they just created a lot of problems for ordinary users! 🙄 These sudden changes in security are just laughable. I'm an old pessimist, and all these fashionable new items seem useless to me.

Despite some temporary inconveniences, I think the added protection against data theft is great. 👍 Especially considering how much personal information is stored in our gadgets.
