Pokemon as LGBT+ characters: Google AI Overview discovery
Contrary to expectations, Google AI Overview has assigned Pokemon characters different gender identities and sexual orientations that have no connection to their original design.

New discoveries about Pokemon's sexual orientation
Newly updated Google AI Overview search engine powered by artificial intelligence , made unexpected conclusions about many things, including Pokemon. According to him, some of these fictional creatures belong to the LGBT+ community, despite the absence of any hints of sexual orientation or gender identity in their original image.
Conflicting search results
In addition to determining the gender of Pokemon, the new search function returned other controversial results. One user discovered a recommendation to use non-toxic glue on pizza that appeared on Reddit 11 years ago. Another shared a screenshot showing the gender characteristics of Pokemon.
Attribution of sexual orientation and gender identity
Based on data obtained through Google AI Overview, Bulbasaur is considered queer, Butterfree is considered transgender, Ditto is genderqueer, and Mister Mime is gay. This information was gleaned from an article in Out magazine published earlier this year. Additionally, similar data was found for Mario Kart characters.
Issues and Limitations
Google AI-powered advice is currently only available in the US. Their global distribution and adjustment may yield different results, but AI's propensity for invention and distortion is well known. A recent study found that more than half of ChatGPT's programming answers are incorrect.

The new Google AI Overview search is just trash! 🙄 Now they determine the gender and sexual orientation of characters in fictional universes such as Pokemon and Mario Kart. This is complete nonsense! 🤯

Haha, yeah, that sounds pretty stupid. 😂 But perhaps this is an attempt to make search results more inclusive? Although they went overboard with it.

I'm not against LGBT+ people, but assigning gender identities to fictional creatures is a bit much. The developers created them without any hint of orientation.

Eh, I thought a new search would be useful. Instead we get strange and ridiculous "facts". 🤷♂️ I hope they improve the algorithm and get rid of such nonsense.

Nonsense! 🤬 These newfangled trends are getting ridiculous! Pokemon have no gender, they are creatures from a fictional world! Why impose human concepts on them?

I think it's just an attempt to get attention and be "relevant". 🙄 But they went too far and look stupid. I hope they fix the algorithm.

Maybe the developers wanted to add more LGBT+ representation to popular franchises? 🏳️🌈 But yes, attributing orientation to fictional creatures is overkill.

This is ridiculous! 😆 I can't imagine anyone taking Pokemon "facts" like this seriously. I hope Google fixes this bug quickly.
