Google introduced new flagship smartphones Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL with improved displays, cameras and artificial intelligence capabilities. The models differ in screen size and battery capacity, but both received a powerful Tensor G4 processor and support for satellite communications.

Google has expanded its line of Pixel smartphones by introducing two top versions - Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. These devices stand out from the base model with improved screens and more powerful cameras.
Impressive displays
Pixel 9 Pro features a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2856 x 1280 pixels. The older model Pixel 9 Pro XL boasts a 6.8-inch display with a resolution of 2992x1344 pixels. Both panels support a 120Hz refresh rate and feature ultrasonic fingerprint scanners.
Powerful hardware and artificial intelligence
The heart of the new products is the Tensor G4 processor, which includes a Cortex-X4 core, three high-performance A720 cores, four energy-efficient A520 cores and Mali-G715 graphics. Paired with 16GB of RAM, this configuration allows you to run the Gemini Nano AI model locally with multimodality. Users have access to storage options from 128 GB to 1 TB.
Innovative Satellite Communication Feature
Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL support Satellite SOS, which lets you contact emergency services via low-orbit satellites in areas with limited or no cellular coverage. This option is free for the first two years of using the smartphone.
Improved camera system
Both models received an identical camera unit, including a 50-megapixel main module, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and an improved 48-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical and 30x hybrid zoom. The front camera now has a 42-megapixel sensor instead of the 10.5-megapixel sensor in the previous generation.
Batteries and fast charging
The Pixel 9 Pro has a 4,700 mAh battery, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL has 5060 mAh battery. For the first time in the Pixel line, 45W fast charging is implemented, allowing you to charge your device from 0% to 70% in just half an hour.
Pricing and Availability
The Pixel 9 Pro starts at $999 and the Pixel 9 Pro XL starts at $1,099. Pre-orders have been open since the announcement. Deliveries of the Pixel 9 Pro will start on August 22, the start date for sales of the Pixel 9 Pro XL has not yet been announced. The smartphones come with a one-year subscription to the Google One AI Premium plan with expanded access to Gemini and 2 TB of cloud storage.
