YouTube channel ETA Prime presented a detailed analysis of the innovative mini PC equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor The Soyo S9 AI compact computer performed well in gaming tests and is preparing to enter the market within the next two months.
Specifications
ETA Prime has thoroughly reviewed the Soyo S9 AI. The heart of the device is the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor (Strix Point), which has 12 computing cores of the Zen 5 architecture. The processor structure includes four full-fledged Zen 5 cores and eight energy-efficient Zen 5c cores.
Interfaces and data storage
On the front panel of the mini-PC there are two USB-A and one USB-C ports, although the latter did not function in the test sample. The rear panel has two HDMI outputs, an Ethernet port, two more USB-A and one USB-C. In the final version of the product, the front Type-C port will support the USB4 standard. The device is equipped with three M.2 NVMe PCIe 4 slots for SSD drives, one of which also did not work in the test sample, but the manufacturer guarantees full functionality in production models.
RAM and Graphics
Soyo S9 AI uses LPDDR5X memory and will be available in 16GB, 32GB configurations or 64 GB RAM. It is important to note that there is no option to upgrade the RAM, since the LPDDR5X chips are soldered to the motherboard. Graphics processing is handled by the integrated Radeon 890M graphics core, based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture.
Gaming Performance
ETA Prime ran a number of tests on popular AAA games including Cyberpunk 2077, Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Forbidden West. In most cases, we were able to achieve high frame rates at low graphics settings in 1080p resolution.
Expectations and Pricing
Although the exact release date and price of the Soyo S9 AI have not yet been disclosed, the device is expected to go on sale before mid-October. Interestingly, the manufacturing company asked the ETA Prime audience to estimate what price potential buyers would be willing to pay for a given mini-PC.
