First tests of Copilot+ PC
Sales of Copilot+ laptop computers with Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors started on June 18. Authoritative resources have already conducted detailed testing of the ASUS Vivobook S 15 laptop with the flagship Snapdragon X Elite chip. According to VideoCardz, the results of these tests are not encouraging for gamers.
Qualcomm is currently the only supplier of certified processors for Copilot+ devices. Laptops with Snapdragon X chips were released along with specialized Microsoft software. The Snapdragon X Elite processor is created using a 4nm process technology and includes 12 Qualcomm Oryon CPU cores with a clock frequency of up to 3.4 GHz and a power consumption of 45 W (PL2), 30 W (PL1). The chip features integrated Adreno X1 graphics and a 45 TOPS neural processing unit (NPU).
High CPU performance, but weak graphics
At the moment, several large-scale tests have been carried out, and there are also reviews from early users that confirm the general conclusion. In short, the Snapdragon X series demonstrates very high processor performance coupled with long battery life, even despite software emulation of x64-x86 applications. The main problem is the low performance of the Adreno X1 integrated graphics, which does not live up to expectations.
Besides supposed emulation bugs on ARM (some games won't run at all), in some cases it is not possible to change the resolution to match the display characteristics . Games experience low frame rates, even with scaling. In fact, the Snapdragon X is not intended for gamers; it is a laptop processor with average integrated graphics capabilities.
New Copilot+ features
ASUS Vivobook S 15 laptop supports Copilot+ features such as Cocreator, live subtitles, audio and video effects. Microsoft has delayed the release of the controversial Recall feature. Some technologies, like Automatic Super Resolution, can only be used with Qualcomm hardware for now.
Currently, Copilot+ PC does not use an NPU to support artificial intelligence functions - instead, the laptop connects to an online service that is now accessible via a dedicated Copilot key. However, in the future the functions will be further developed by Microsoft.

But I liked the long battery life more! Finally, you can work on the go without any problems. 🚀🔋 Processing power is also high, despite x86 emulation.

Ugh, what are these newfangled things for? 😒 In my time, good old laptops worked without any AI technology! This is all just a marketing ploy to suck money out of gullible people!
