Drone Swarm Control: Revolutionary Swarmer Technology for Military Operations
The article tells about the development of drone swarm control technology by the Swarmer company and its co-founder Serhii Kuprienko to increase the effectiveness of drones on the battlefield.
Swarm of drones
Change of behavior
The main idea of development is the ability of a swarm of drones to change their behavior independently depending on the circumstances on the battlefield. The human makes the decision to destroy the target, and the system can override it if the target has become unattainable. This allows you to adapt to rapid changes in the situation and perform combat tasks more effectively.
Swarm synchronization
Currently, the system controls a group of 3-5 drones, but theoretically it can coordinate up to 100-150 drones. The main difficulty lies in synchronizing the actions of such a large number of aircraft and coordinating their actions with other units, means of electronic warfare and air defense.
Overcoming EW
Optical navigation systems and alternative communication methods are used to overcome the enemy's radio-electronic countermeasures. However, the main problem is synchronization with its own electronic warfare, which can cause significant losses of drones. This issue is resolved in cooperation with other units of the Armed Forces.
Application of AI
Artificial intelligence allows you to quickly make decisions based on large volumes of intelligence, as well as scale effective tactics to the entire front. The disadvantage is the risk of unpredictable behavior of the system in extreme situations, so a hybrid approach with hard logic and restrictions is used.
Glossary
- Swarmer is a startup developing drone swarm management technology.
- Drone (unmanned aerial vehicle) - an aerial vehicle without a crew on board.
- EW (radio-electronic warfare) - a set of measures using technical and tactical means to protect against the enemy's radio-electronic means.
- AI (artificial intelligence) is the ability of machines to imitate human mental activity.
- FPV (first-person view) - a device that transmits images from the camera to the control panel in real time.

It's great that Ukrainian developers are working on such an important technology! A swarm of UAVs can be very effective on the battlefield. 🚀

I wonder if such a system will be able to autonomously identify targets and coordinate an attack? This can significantly improve the efficiency of operations. 💻

Do not forget about the ethical aspects of using artificial intelligence in the military sphere. Human control should remain key. 🕊️

On the one hand, it can help save the lives of our soldiers. But on the other hand, won't such a technology become too powerful? 🤔
Pierre
Hopefully, such a system will be well tested before being used on the battlefield. Mistakes can be fatal. 🛡️

I think this is another step in the development of military technologies. But it is important to maintain human control. Let it hit the target! 🎯

All these new technologies are a waste of money! In my time, we defeated the enemy by courage and bravery, not by some kind of work. You would be better off spending money on good weapons and ammunition. 👴🗯️

I would not rush to conclusions, Grigory. Modern technologies can save the lives of our soldiers. But their use should be balanced and under control. 🕊️
