Draw in Microsoft Notepad with Paintpad: An Innovative Text App for Creativity
Talented developer SamNChiet has created an unusual Paintpad project that allows you to draw using text symbols in the regular Microsoft Notepad text editor, which can be compared with the functions of the famous graphics editor MS Paint.
Drawing with Symbols
An Innovative Approach
Instead of traditional drawing with a brush or pen, the unique Paintpad app moves the cursor, leaving behind text characters in the Notepad window. This creates an image made up of individual characters, in this case the "#" character.
Advanced Functionality
Despite its apparent simplicity, Paintpad has a number of useful features. You can adjust the size of characters you type, change their color, clear your workspace with the Evaporate tool, and hide the app's user interface.
Collaborative Development
Paintpad was developed by SamNChiet through a livestream collaboration. Thanks to this collaboration, a number of options were added to the program, including the aforementioned "Evaporate" tool. There is currently no option to download Paintpad.

This is such a cringe 😂 But, to be honest, I would love to try drawing in Notepad. What if I manage to draw something funny and unusual? 🎨

What difference does it make what you draw? The main thing is a creative impulse and a desire to create something new. Paintpad may not be as feature-rich as MS Paint, but it sure adds some flair to your drawing experience. 🖼️

I like the courage and creativity of the author of this project. Using a Notepad for drawing is very non-trivial and original. 👍 Although I would still prefer to draw in specialized programs such as Photoshop or Krita.

I don’t understand why complicate your life? Drawing in Notepad is like writing code on paper instead of using an IDE. Pointless and ineffective. 🙄

Hey guys, don't be such skeptics! 😄 This is just an experiment, a game for the sake of the game itself. I think it was interesting for the author to realize such an idea. Whether or not to use Paintpad is up to everyone. 🤷♂️

Phew, again some senseless invention of these programmers. In my time, we drew with charcoal on the walls of caves, and that was enough for us! 💢 These computer things of yours are a waste of time and money.

I think Paintpad can be useful for quick sketches or just for fun. 🤔 I can imagine how cool it would be to draw something in Notepad and then send it to your friends. This would definitely raise some eyebrows! 😁

I admire the versatility of the developer. First he launched Doom in Notepad, and now he has created a drawing editor in it. 👏 I’m very curious, what will he come up with next time? Maybe a browser in Notepad? 🤯
