The Opendatabot.ua service is launching a project to check the legality of new buildings in Ukraine, using open data from various sources to provide information on the availability of necessary permits, legal disputes, the legality of land use and developers.

The Opendatabot team created a free web platform "Opendatabot. Corruption risks of new buildings", which allows Ukrainians to independently verify the legality of buildings before purchasing real estate. More than half of new buildings in Ukraine have lawsuits related to land plots.
Useful information for buyers
The service uses open data from various sources, providing users with important information about new buildings, including the availability of:
- Construction permits in the Register of construction activities;
- Court proceedings regarding construction in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions;
- Legal use of the land plot according to the State Land Cadastre;
- Information about the developer in the Unified State Register;
- Encumbrances on real estate in the State Register of Property Rights.

- Investigative journalists and public activists - for proper monitoring of urban development and timely detection of offenses.
Troubled New Buildings
Opendatabot's analysis of nearly 400 new buildings found that 214 residential complexes have legal disputes over the land they are built on. In addition, 22 residential complexes did not renew the lease of the land plot, questioning the legality of their construction, and 9 future complexes do not have any information in the Register of Property Rights about the connection between the land and the construction at all.
