OnlyFans under attack: police demand access to fight crime
The OnlyFans platform is facing the problem of controlling the distribution of sexually explicit materials involving minors. Law enforcement agencies have expressed concern about the difficulty of accessing content for investigations.
OnlyFans and CSAM
Content access problem
Law enforcement authorities have expressed concern that OnlyFans, a platform popular among sex workers, may be underestimating the prevalence of child sexual exploitation material (CSAM). The main difficulty lies in the individual payment system, which makes it difficult to obtain a complete picture of the situation and hinders the effective investigation of crimes.
Expert opinion
Trey Amick, director of forensic consultants Magnet Forensics, emphasizes: "It's not just a paywall, but an individual fee for each user. This makes it much more difficult to obtain content hidden behind the OnlyFans paywall."
Child exploitation investigator Matt Richardson also notes the difficulty in determining the exact amount similar materials on the platform.
Statistics and countermeasures
According to Reuters, of the 30 cases investigated involving CSAM on OnlyFans, more than half were resolved arrests, and three resulted in convictions.
Representatives of OnlyFans claim that they are actively cooperating in the fight against the sexual exploitation of minors. They provide "full access" to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and also share most of the data, including users' content and private messages, with law enforcement.
Limitations and Risks
However, access to information is only provided for accounts that are under active investigation. Other accounts remain closed to free access. A BBC investigation in 2021 found cases of teenagers using fake documents to create accounts on OnlyFans.
Ethical Dilemma
The situation creates a difficult ethical dilemma. On the one hand, protecting children from sexual exploitation is a priority. On the other hand, giving law enforcement unrestricted access to a platform where users pay for adult content raises serious questions about privacy and possible abuse of power.

That's terrible! 😱 Is OnlyFans really unable to effectively combat such crimes? What do you think needs to be done to improve the situation?
Giovanni
This is a difficult problem, Alexandra. On the one hand, it is important to protect children. On the other hand, user privacy must not be violated. It may be worth tightening up age verification for registration and introducing stricter content moderation. 🤔
Marie
I agree with Giovanni. There needs to be a balance between security and privacy. Maybe it’s worth bringing in independent experts to develop more efficient verification algorithms? 🧐
Hans
And I think OnlyFans should give full access to law enforcement. The protection of children is more important than the privacy of adults using such sites. 👮♂️
Olga
Hans, but wouldn't this violate user rights? Many people use OnlyFans legally. Maybe we should find another way? For example, improve the system of complaints and response to them. 🤷♀️
George
Nonsense! Everyone is always trying to ban and control something. Let them deal with real problems rather than meddle in people’s personal lives. They're just wasting their time.
Isabella
George, I understand your frustration, but the problem is really serious. Maybe we should think about creating a special commission that will deal only with these issues on OnlyFans? This way you can avoid total control. 🕵️♀️

Interesting ideas! What if OnlyFans collaborated with AI companies to develop smart algorithms that could identify suspicious content without violating privacy? Technologies do not stand still. 🤖
