China introduced a chatbot with “communist” AI based on the ideas of Xi Jinping
Chinese authorities are training a large language model (LLM) with the political ideas of Xi Jinping to embody socialist values and control artificial intelligence content.
Xi's Teachings
Official Source of Knowledge
A major language model has taken over Chinese leader Xi Jinping's political philosophy, known as the "Thoughts Xi Jinping on Socialism,” as well as other official materials provided by the Chinese cyber regulator. This ensures that the content of the model is professional and authoritative, in line with socialist ideals.
Future of widespread use
The model is currently used in the Internet regulator's research center, but later it is planned to distribute it everywhere. The chatbot is reportedly capable of answering questions, generating reports, summarizing information, and translating between Chinese and English.

More than a dozen books have been published in the name of Xi Jinping, and they occupy central to the country's book fairs. Popular news apps from companies like Tencent or NetEase also reserve top positions in their feeds for articles from official media, usually featuring the Chinese leader.
Learning from childhood
Officials require schoolchildren as young as 10 to study Xi Jinping's political philosophy. It also launched the Study Xi Strong Nation app to educate and test the knowledge of about 100 million members of the Chinese Communist Party.
AI Control
Developers of generative chatbots are required to comply with licensing terms that require they “embody core socialist values” in their content. The China Cybersecurity Association has created a public database of 100 million records of “high-quality and reliable data” for training AI models, primarily on government regulations, policy documents, state media reports and other official publications.
Exalting a Leader
One of the documents in the data package contains 86,314 references to Xi Jinping. One of the lines says: “Let us unite even more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core.”

I wonder how such an AI can be objective and unbiased if it is trained on propaganda literature? 🤔 This looks like an attempt to control people even more and impose state ideology.
Анна
You're right, Boris. Using only official sources and materials about Xi Jinping can lead to bias and political bias in the AI. 😕 Ideally, the model should be trained on diverse and balanced data.

On the one hand, it is commendable that China is investing in AI development. 💻 But on the other hand, the imposition of a certain ideology is a restriction of free thought. AI should be an independent and objective tool, not a propaganda tool.

To me, this looks quite controversial. 🤨 Although official literature can contain valuable information, relying solely on it is risky. The model may acquire certain political views and biases. We need a more balanced approach to data!

Ha, old Jinping decided that it would be more fun with an artificial friend! 😂 But seriously, this is a risky experiment. Instead of open dialogue, we may end up with a brainwashing machine.

Ugh, these stupid trends again! 😠 Why do we need another chatty AI, and even trained on someone else’s ideology? It would be better to do something useful. No progress, just fashionable things!

Hmm, a promising idea, but there is a big risk of bias. 🤔 If the model is not trained on a variety of sources, it can generate biased and biased content. Objectivity is the key to a useful AI assistant.

I don't see anything good in this. 😐 Using only ideological materials is the path to creating propaganda AI. People deserve fair and balanced information, not brainwashing machines.
