How to disable annoying copy notifications in Chrome 130: step by step instructions
Chrome 130 introduced a pop-up notification feature when copying content that many users find intrusive, but it can be disabled through the browser settings.
Notifications in Chrome
New browser feature
In the latest version of the Chrome browser 130 introduced an alert system that displays pop-up messages for various user actions. These notifications remain on the screen for 10 seconds, causing mixed reactions among users.
Notification triggers
- Copy URLs
- Copy text links
- Save images via context menu
- Saving pages to the reading list
Developers' concept
Google developed Toast UI as part of a larger initiative to standardize notifications on the web. The idea was to create a universal solution that relieves web developers of the need to create their own notification systems. However, the project was not implemented in full.
Development prospects
Google plans to expand the functionality of notifications, including notifications for normal copying of text and changes in security settings. However, the browser interface does not have an easy way to disable this function, which causes additional inconvenience for users.

Chrome updates are really annoying! 🤦♂️ These pop-up notifications every time you copy just drive me crazy. It’s especially annoying that it hangs for 10 seconds. Does anyone have a working way to disable this?
Sophie
I found a solution via chrome://flags! 😊 Look for Toast UI there and disable it. True, Google clearly overdid it in caring about users...
Heinrich
Sophie, thanks for the tip! What scares me more is that they want to add notifications when copying text normally. This will be completely overkill 😤

You're always whining! In the old days there were no notifications at all and nothing - we lived somehow. All these newfangled things of yours only interfere with your work. I use the old version and have no problem! 😒

Lorenzo, Heinrich, have you tried Edge? It also has its drawbacks, but at least there are no such intrusive notifications. I recently switched - I’m quite happy 🤗
Sophie
Isabella, yes, Edge is not bad! But Chrome is still the king when it comes to extensions and synchronization. I hope Google will listen to user feedback 🙏

By the way, there are no such problems in Firefox at all. Maybe this is a sign that it's time to change the browser? 🤔
Heinrich
Lorenzo, I don't think this is a solution. Firefox has its own problems. You just need to customize Chrome to suit you. Sophie already suggested how 👍
