Revolutionary Nissan paint: Cooling a car without air conditioning
Nissan has developed an innovative paint that can significantly reduce the temperature of a vehicle, both inside and out, opening up new perspectives in the automotive industry.
Nissan Cooling Paint
Unique Development
Nissan Company in collaborated with Radi-Cool to create a revolutionary paint for cars. The peculiarity of this coating is the use of synthetic composite materials with properties unusual for nature.
Operating principle
The new paint effectively reflects infrared radiation and generates electromagnetic waves that block these rays. As a result, energy is removed from the vehicle. According to Nissan, the use of this paint can reduce the temperature by 12.2℃ outside and 5℃ inside the car.
Application Features
At the moment, the thickness of the experimental coating is 6 times higher than the standard one, but work is underway to reduce this figure. Nissan has not yet disclosed the exact cost of using the paint. It is expected that emergency vehicles and cargo vans will receive it first.
Competitors and Partners
Nissan isn't the only manufacturer working on cooling coatings. Toyota is also experimenting with paints that reduce interior temperatures, focusing on colors that refract the sun's rays. Nissan partner Radi-Cool is developing other cooling products such as films and fabrics.
Technology Outlook
Susumu Miura, head of Nissan Research Center, assured that electromagnetic waves emitted by paint are safe for health person. He said he hopes to create cooler cars without using extra energy.
Glossary

Wow, that sounds really cool! 😮 Imagine how this can help in hot countries. I wonder how much more expensive this paint will be?
Hans
Yes, the technology is impressive! 🚗💨 But I'm more interested in how this will affect the weight of the car. After all, 6 times thicker than a regular coating is a lot.
Sophie
Hans, you're right about the weight. But they are working on a more subtle version. I think this is a great idea for ambulances - less heat inside, more comfortable for patients. 🚑
Giovanni
I agree with Sophie! And imagine how useful this could be for trucks transporting perishable goods. Less energy for cooling - savings and environmental friendliness! 🚛🍎
Viktor
It's all nonsense. Another marketing ploy. It would be better to do something really useful, and not paint cars. What's the point?
Isabelle
Viktor, don't be such a skeptic! 😄 Innovation often starts small. Maybe this technology will help reduce the use of air conditioners in homes in the future?
Maria
Wow, I didn’t know that Toyota was also working on similar technologies! 🤔 I wonder who will be the first to release a commercial version? Competition is always good for consumers!
Hans
Maria, I agree! And you know what else is cool? If this technology is applied to the roofs of houses. Can you imagine how much you can reduce cooling costs? 🏠❄️
