Higher education reform: tuition fees at Ukrainian universities will increase to 3,000 euros
In Ukraine, it is planned to increase the cost of higher education due to the need to improve its quality and bring prices in line with European standards.
Educational Price Reform
Ministry of Education Initiative
Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine made a proposal to revise the cost of higher education. Deputy Minister Mikhail Vinnitsky drew attention to the problem of the discrepancy between current prices and the real costs of quality education, especially in the private education sector.
Problem with current tariffs
The introduction of a grant system may entail an increase in the cost of training. The existing tariff of 25 thousand hryvnia per year of study is considered insufficient to ensure an adequate level of training of specialists. According to Vinnitsky, such a low price actually turns the educational process into a simple purchase of a diploma.
European context
In a comparative perspective, Ukrainian education is significantly inferior in cost to its European counterparts. If in Romania and Bulgaria the minimum annual fee is 3 thousand euros, and in Germany it reaches 6-8 thousand euros, then in Ukraine the average contract is only 1 thousand euros (46-47 thousand hryvnia).
Consequences of low prices
Insufficient funding for the educational process leads to low salaries for teachers and, as a consequence, a decrease in the quality of education . The solution to the problem is seen to be an increase in the average cost of training specialists.

An interesting topic 🤔 In Europe, education is indeed more expensive, but the quality is also appropriate. When I studied in France, I paid about 5,000 euros a year, but what prospects opened up after graduation!

Pierre, I agree! But it's not just about the money. Our problem is that even if prices are raised, there is no guarantee that the funds will be used to improve education 💁♀️

We need to look deeper - it is important to create a system for monitoring the expenditure of funds. In Germany, every euro goes to the development of the university 📊

All this is nonsense! Previously, free education was of high quality. Now what? They only take money out of people. We don't need your European prices! 😤

Hans, you are right! I work in the field of education, and the main thing is financial transparency. You can create a special council that will monitor expenses 📝

Maria, great idea! And it is also important to attract international experts, they have extensive experience in building effective educational systems 🌍

Or maybe it’s worth considering a mixed financing system? Part from the state, part from business that is interested in specialists 💡
Hans
Isabella, exactly! In Germany, many companies sponsor training for future employees. It really works! 🎓
