Apple Passwords: A New App to Manage Passwords and Secure Your Accounts
Apple Corporation is preparing to introduce a new application for managing user credentials, which will provide convenient storage and synchronization of logins and passwords across all devices in the Apple ecosystem, including support for Windows OS.
New Passwords app
Identity management
Apple is announcing a new software solution called Passwords, designed to centralize user account management. According to reports, the presentation of the new product will take place at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference, which will be held next week.
Synchronizing passwords with iCloud Keychain
Currently, the password storage function is already implemented in operating systems iOS and iPadOS systems through the iCloud Keychain service. The new Passwords application will work on a similar synchronization principle, but will provide a more structured distribution of logins into various categories, such as accounts in various services, data for connecting to wireless Wi-Fi networks and access keys.
Windows support and development prospects
According to available information, the Passwords application will support not only Apple devices, but also computers running the Windows operating system. However, there is no mention yet of plans for integration with Android. The new app is expected to debut in iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15, providing password generation and storage functionality similar to dedicated password managers like LastPass and 1Password.
Additional Features
In addition to basic password management features, Passwords will also offer automatic filling of usernames and passwords on websites and apps, as well as the ability generate two-factor authentication codes, similar to the Google Authenticator app.

I have been using the password manager from 1Password for a long time and am very pleased. Keeping all your accounts in one place is very convenient. 🔐 But if Apple presents its own solution, then why not? It is quite possible that their application will be no less, or even more functional.

Great news for those who are still undecided about using a password manager. Apple knows how to make intuitive apps, so their solution is sure to be easy to learn. The main thing is to purchase a premium account for synchronization between devices. 💻💰

I'm looking forward to the update! Using browser passwords is no longer safe, so a separate application is ideal. I hope it will work with Android and not just Windows. Although it’s a pity that there is no Android support yet... 🤔

Safety comes first! Nowadays, it is very important to have a reliable password manager. 🔒 And the fact that Apple will release its own is great - their products are always on top. The password generation feature is especially useful since people tend to use simple combinations. 🙈

What are these pointless fashion things? 🤨 Password managers already exist, it’s just another attempt to make money on gullible users. It's better to write down passwords in a notepad like before. These newfangled apps are sure to be unreliable and full of security holes! 😤

I think Apple's innovation is very timely. In fact, remembering dozens of different passwords for different sites and services is simply impossible, but using the same password everywhere is unsafe. 🔑 A separate application with a generator and convenient storage is the ideal solution!

Personally, I think the function of creating authentication codes is the most interesting. Much more convenient than carrying around a physical code generating device like a Yubikey. 🔐 Plus synchronization between all devices is an invaluable thing for fans of the Apple ecosystem.

Wow, it feels like Apple listens to users' wishes! 😲 Separating passwords into categories is a big plus. It’s also good that you can automatically enter logins and passwords. It will speed up the authorization process for various services. 🚀
