Simple procedure
Since February of this year, the service of filing an electronic application has become available on the government portal "Diya" for registration of marriage. To register, just log in to the website, fill out the necessary data, select ceremony details and pay the fee electronically. The process takes no more than 15 minutes, and the registry office is obliged to consider the application within one working day.
Popular option
The new opportunity is actively used by Ukrainian couples: in just a few months, more than 25 thousand hits. The greatest demand is observed in Kyiv, Lviv and Odessa regions. At the same time, women are more often the initiators - their share is 53% of the total number of applications.
Remote marriage
In addition to online registration, it is planned to launch a service for conducting the wedding ceremony itself remotely via video call. This will allow the newlyweds to enter into a union without visiting the registry office in person.
"Diya" is gaining momentum
The state service "Diya" was launched in 2019 to provide electronic administrative services to the population. In a short time, it became one of the most popular applications in the country, with more than 20 million unique users installing it. In 2024, it is planned to develop the project, including opening the source code and launching new services for civil servants and education using AI.
