YouTube TV has added a feature to watch multiple streams simultaneously on one screen in its Android app, allowing users to follow sports events.

New functionality
YouTube TV video service introduced an update for the Android platform, adding the ability to simultaneously view up to four live broadcasts in multiview mode. Previously, this option had already become available for iOS devices and smart TVs.
Multi-screen viewing
The multiview function allows you to combine several video streams on one screen, which is especially convenient to watch sports. The user can select up to four broadcasts to be displayed simultaneously in a grid on a single device.
Technical aspects
Thanks to server-based processing of video streams, multiview does not require high performance from the user’s device . A single stream containing several broadcasts is displayed on a smartphone or tablet. To activate the feature, you must install the latest version of the YouTube TV app 8.17 for Android.
Viewing controls
To select audio for a specific broadcast, simply tap the corresponding video stream. The active stream will be framed with a white frame for easier orientation. Multiview mode is available in the Home tab of the YouTube TV app for Android.
