Microsoft has introduced a new Recall tool for the Windows 11 operating system, which monitors and records all user actions on the computer, making it possible to quickly find and restore the necessary information.

Features of the Recall tool
Recall, known internally at Microsoft as AI Explorer , has a wide range of functions. It records user activity in various applications, monitors communication during meetings, stores the history of websites visited, and much more. To find the information you need, just run the Recall command, which, like an AI search, will provide a snapshot of the desired time period.
Visualization of actions on the computer
All user actions on the computer are displayed on a timeline, which you can scroll. Additionally, Recall lets you search for past meetings and videos thanks to its Live Captions feature, which transcribes and even translates the language.
Previous attempts and analogues
In the past, Microsoft has attempted to create a similar, but less powerful Timeline tool for Windows 10, but stopped supporting it in 2021. There is also a very similar program for Mac called Rewind, which records all activity on M-based computers. However, unlike Rewind, which is a third-party application, Recall will be deeply integrated into Windows.
System requirements
Recall will not work on all Windows 11 computers. To use it, you will need one of the new Copilot Plus computers powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chips , equipped with the neural processor (NPU) necessary for Recall to work.
Data Privacy
Microsoft assures users that the Recall index remains local and private on the device. Recording can be paused and individual content can be deleted.
