Microsoft tracks sex toys: lawsuit from upset user
A San Francisco woman has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft and two major sex toy retailers, alleging they violated privacy by tracking users' activities on their websites without consent.

San resident -Francisco Stella Tatola accuses Babeland and Good Vibrations, which are owned by Barnaby Ltd. LLC, in that they allowed Microsoft to track the search queries and purchases of visitors to their sites. She claims the sites install trackers using Microsoft Clarity software, which "records in real time" and tracks users' mouse movements, clicks, scrolling and navigation.
Violation of your own privacy policy
According to the plaintiff, Microsoft's disclosure of users' confidential information, including their sexual orientation, preferences and desires, violates Barnaby's privacy policy, which promises not to disclose such data to third parties. The complaint contains screenshots of the sites' code, confirming the use of cookies to identify unique web browsers.

Earlier in February, the same woman filed a class-action lawsuit against another major sex toy retailer, Adam & Eve, alleging that its site provided Google with information about her search queries related to intimate products.
