Maksym Demyaniuk: UAHg, the future of finance and cryptocurrencies in Ukraine
UAHg founder Maksym Demyaniuk shared his vision of the future of cryptocurrencies and finance in Ukraine, talked about his path in the crypto industry and presented the Ukrainian stablecoin project.
Cryptocurrency future
From retail to cryptocurrencies
Before plunging into the world of cryptocurrencies, Maksym Demyaniuk managed the "Torba" chain of stores - a unique project with no markup and payment by check. This network, which has about 50 markets in Western Ukraine, has achieved an annual turnover of approximately 4 billion hryvnias.
First steps in the cryptoworld
In 2014, Maksym became interested not so much in cryptocurrency as in blockchain technology. His fascination with economics and monetary systems led to the creation of a project for an alternative model of payments between people without the involvement of banks, using social connections. Despite the skepticism of those around them, a team of young enthusiasts spent a year and a half working on the development of a functional protocol.
Public service and legislation
Demjaniuk became an adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister on issues of digital transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. He participated in the development of the law on the regulation of cryptocurrencies in Ukraine, involving hundreds of experts. Although the law was passed by the Verkhovna Rada and signed by the president, it never entered into force.
Cryptocurrency taxation
Regarding the taxation of cryptocurrencies, Maksym opposes turnover taxes, considering them destructive. Instead, he proposes a 5% income tax, which, in his opinion, could make Ukraine a leader in the world of cryptocurrencies.
UAHg project
The idea of creating a Ukrainian stablecoin UAHg arose from a vision of the future of finance in Ukraine. The team worked on the project for two years to launch it in the legal field without violating Ukrainian legislation. More information about UAHg can be found on official website , Telegram channel and in Instagram.
Looking into the future
Demjaniuk predicts that in 10 years there will be a change in the perception of money. People will associate their funds not only with cash and bank accounts, but also with crypto addresses in smartphones. It provides for the unification of banking applications and crypto wallets in a single digital format.

Wow, what an interesting interview! 😮 I was impressed that Maksym Demyaniuk managed a chain of stores without a markup before cryptocurrencies. This is a very unusual approach to business. I wonder how he came up with such an idea?
Ivan
Yes, Olena, this is a really unconventional approach. It seems to me that such experience could help him in the cryptosphere as well - because there, too, you need to think outside the box. And I was also interested in his idea of an alternative model of calculations through social ties. Sounds very innovative! 🤔
Maria
Ivan, I agree! This project with alternative calculations sounds very promising. I wonder if it is developing now? And what do you think, can such a system compete with traditional banks? 🏦💡
Andriy
Oh, it's that crypto-currency and blockchain fad again. Why is it necessary? They lived somehow before without it, and nothing. People's heads are only confused by these new technologies. 😒
Sophia
Andriy, I understand your skepticism, but technology is constantly evolving. Look how the world has changed in the last 20 years! It is interesting that Demjaniuk works as an adviser in the Ministry of Digital. This shows that the state is also interested in the development of this area. Maybe it will help make the financial system more transparent and efficient? 🌐💼
Olena
Sophia, you are right! I think that the participation of such experts as Demjaniuk in the development of legislation is a big plus. They understand the specifics of the industry from the inside. By the way, has anyone heard about the UAHg project? I wonder how it can affect the economy of Ukraine? 🇺🇦💹
Ivan
Olena, I read about UAHg - it is a stablecoin tied to the hryvnia. I think it can be useful for international transfers and e-commerce. But I am interested in how it will affect ordinary Ukrainians? Can we use it in our daily life? 🤔💳
Maria
Ivan, interesting question! I think it will be more relevant for businesses at first, but over time it can become a useful tool for ordinary users as well. Imagine how it can simplify international shopping or transferring money to relatives abroad! And it can help make the financial system more transparent. What do you say? 🌍💸
