Apple is set to release new Macs with M4 series chips over the next year and a half, starting in late 2024 and ending in the second half of 2025, according to a roadmap outlined by a reputable insider.

According to Bloomberg insider Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to introduce Mac computers new generation with M4 series processors in the following order:
- At the end of 2024, a budget 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 chip.
- Also due to debut towards the end of the year is a 24-inch iMac equipped with an M4 processor.
- From the end of 2024 to the beginning of 2025, the release of top-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips is planned.
- During the same period, the compact Mac mini will be updated, which will receive configurations with M4 and M4 Pro processors.
- The presentation of new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air laptops is expected in the spring of 2025.
- A Mac Studio computer with the high-performance M4 chip should be introduced around mid-2025.
- In the second half of 2025, a professional Mac Pro computer equipped with the M4 Ultra chip is planned to be released.
Testing the M3 Ultra
According to Gurman, Apple laboratories are already conducting internal tests of the promising M3 Ultra chip, aimed at use in Mac computers Studio and Mac Pro. At the same time, the insider is almost sure that at least some top Mac models will skip the M3 series of processors and immediately switch to M4 chips.
