Galaxy Watch Ultra problems
Unpleasant surprise for users
Samsung is once again in the spotlight due to problems with the quality of its products. This time, troubles affected the owners of the new premium Galaxy Watch Ultra, which costs $649.
Just a few days after using the device, users discovered that the paint on the watch case was starting to peel off. This issue arose shortly after Samsung was forced to suspend shipments of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro due to defective ear pads.
Galaxy Watch Ultra Owner's Experience
One of the Reddit users under the nickname bimmerb0ii shared his story. He purchased a gray Galaxy Watch Ultra as a pre-order and received it on July 19th. The man wore his watch constantly, not taking it off even at night. However, a few days later, when he removed the device to recharge, he noticed that the paint on the back of the case above the lower left screw began to peel off.
Features of the problem
It is worth noting that this problem , apparently only affects the Titanium Gray version of the watch. For white and silver models, the paint coating is present only on the bezel and partially on the side surfaces.
Difficulties with replacing the device
The user contacted Samsung support via chat. He was advised to visit an authorized service center. However, the center did not have spare parts for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, so employees recommended contacting Samsung to replace the device.
The replacement process turned out to be difficult and lengthy. Samsung initially offered the owner $22 compensation to keep the watch. After refusing this offer, the company provided instructions for returning and replacing the device. The procedure involved returning the faulty watch, waiting two weeks for a refund, purchasing a new device at full price, and contacting the company again to receive a discount up to the price of the previous order.

Wow, this is news about Samsung! I was just about to buy a Galaxy Watch Ultra. Now I don’t even know if it’s worth... 🤔
Isabella
Yeah, Liam, it's an unpleasant situation. But maybe this is an isolated case? I have Galaxy Buds and have no problems. Although $649 for a watch is a lot, of course.
Hans
Isabella, I wouldn't risk it if I were you. It's better to wait until Samsung sorts out the problem. Otherwise, you’ll have a hard time finding a replacement, like that guy from Reddit.
Sophie
Guys, maybe this is just a defective batch? I think that Samsung will quickly correct the situation. They value their reputation 🤷♀️

Ha! Another fashionable toy has broken. In my time, watches served for decades. And now every day there is a new problem. Why do we even need this smart watch?
Liam
Gunther, you lost it! 😄 Smart watches are not just watches. This is a fitness tracker, navigator, notifications at your fingertips. Very comfortably! But we need to sort out the quality, I agree.
Adeline
But I think Samsung should replace the watch for free for anyone who has a problem. And do it quickly, and not fool around with returns and waiting. This is a premium product!
Marco
I agree with Adeline! Samsung needs to react urgently, otherwise they will lose customers. Now I'll think about it before buying their new products. Maybe it's better to look at the Apple Watch? 🍎⌚
