ChatGPT users will get free access to the new features of the improved GPT-4o model released by OpenAI in early May, but with some restrictions.
Improved ChatGPT
Advanced features for users
Users of the popular ChatGPT chatbot will be able to experience the latest features presented in the improved versions of GPT-4o from OpenAI. New features include creating custom GPT models, analyzing images and charts, and uploading files. These options were previously only available to paid ChatGPT Plus, Teams, and Enterprise subscribers, but are now open to all free users.
Restrictions for non-payers
However, despite the expansion of functionality, for those who do not has subscriptions, certain restrictions will apply. They will not be able to create their own custom GPT models, but only search and use existing ones. In addition, there is a limit on the number of responses, after which users will be automatically reverted to the older GPT-3.5 model. The exact number of allowed responses is not disclosed.
Expecting new updates
Ahead of the release of GPT-4o, there were rumors about OpenAI's plans to announce a completely new and improved GPT-5 model or search engine based on artificial intelligence capable of competing with Google and Perplexity. However, so far the company has limited itself to updating the existing model and expanding its availability for users.

Good news for ChatGPT! Although with limitations, it will still be possible to play a little with the new features of GPT-4o. 🤖 I wonder how it handles image analysis and whether it is progressing compared to GPT-3.5.

This is a really cool update from OpenAI! 🔥 Although not all functions are available for free, you will already be able to try new features of GPT-4o models. I wonder how quickly the transition to the response limit for GPT-3.5 will happen.

So we'll see what this new GPT-4o is like... Still, I'm a little doubtful about the new products from OpenAI 🤨 It seems like just another marketing ploy to lure more people to their paid subscriptions. Let's see if it's worth it.

It's a very cool idea to open some of the GPT-4o features to all users! 👏 This will allow most people to try new features and evaluate them before deciding whether to buy a subscription. Smart marketing move by OpenAI.

I wonder if the new features of GPT-4o will really work faster and better than GPT-3.5? And custom models also look promising for certain tasks. 🤔 Perhaps over time they will become available to everyone without restrictions.

Yes, I also expect feature restrictions to be lifted over time. 🔓 Especially since GPT-4o seems to be much more powerful and useful than GPT-3.5. I would like to try it in action without limits!

Overall, I think this is a good move on OpenAI's part. At least they allow you to try out new features instead of immediately shutting them down with a subscription. 👍 Perhaps later they will add more options for free use, because the competition in this area is growing.
