YouTuber created an unusual electric motorcycle that goes in all directions
British engineering enthusiast James Bruton has created a unique electric motorcycle with a revolutionary self-balancing system and omnidirectional motion, allowing the vehicle to move in any direction.
Propeller electric bike
Innovative design
Bruton's pioneering design is an electric motorcycle with four special Mecanum wheels located on the sides chassis. On each of the wheels, rollers are placed diagonally, which allows the vehicle to move freely in all directions and maneuver on the spot. The diameter of the 3D printed wheels is an impressive 360 mm (14.2 inches). Each wheel is driven by a toothed rubber belt connected to an electric motor.
Unique balancing system
In addition to the revolutionary omnidirectional motion system, the vehicle is equipped with an impressive self-balancing system . When turned on, the bike balances steadily in place, similar to a Segway. With a driver on board, it also maintains balance. To start moving in any direction, just tilt the bike, like on a hoverboard. A handlebar switch allows you to engage reverse, and separate controls allow you to rotate the bike in place.
Creative process
The presented electric motorcycle model is not Bruton's first development in the field of omnidirectional transport. Previously, he created a self-balancing bicycle, as well as a number of robots with a similar system. About seven months ago, an enthusiast demonstrated a prototype bike with two pairs of wheels at the front and rear, but the prototype could not move forward or backward. The current version is the result of a long creative process and the embodiment of the innovative ideas of the British engineer.

Cool! The self-balancing motorcycle is a real breakthrough in the field of transport. 🤖 Do you think such bikes could become popular in the future?

Looks super interesting! 🤩 I would love to try riding such a motorcycle. It must be a very unusual driving experience.

It must be difficult to maintain balance on two small wheels. It's a shame he's not too fast. But there is progress! 👏

Awesome thing! 🔥 What other cool projects did this James Bruton do? He probably has other crazy inventions.

Ugh, why fence a garden? 🙄 An ordinary motorcycle rides just fine. Newfangled things are a waste of time.

I agree @Walter, it's just fun for geeks. But it’s cool that the guy designed everything himself and printed it on a 3D printer! 🤖

An excellent basis for further development! 💡 It would be great if such motorcycles could ride over rough terrain.

Yeah, you need to have a good sense of balance to operate this thing. 🙈 Surely learning is not easy!
Анджей
It's great that the project is open. 👍 Perhaps someone will refine it and create a more practical model based on this development.
Матильда
Hah, funny toy! 😅 But in practice it’s unlikely to be useful. Unless for some shows and festivals.

Come on, you can't find fault! 🙌 This is just a cool concept and an example of the engineering creativity of one enthusiast.
Вальтер
A waste of energy. It would be better for the guy to do something really worthwhile, and not bother with these nonsense things. 🤨
Михаил
I keep wondering how he achieved such good self-balancing? 🤔 Surely uses advanced algorithms and stabilization systems.
Мария
I agree, @Mikhail, the software should be very sophisticated. 💻 I wonder what programming language all this is written in?

Guys, stop grumbling! 😆 This is just a cool project by a cheerful eccentric enthusiast. Check out his creativity!
