Texting instead of calls: every 5th Ukrainian prefers to communicate via messages
Most Ukrainians prefer text messaging instead of phone calls when communicating with colleagues, clients and other contractors. At the same time, many are irritated by cold calls from strangers.

The vast majority of citizens of our country prefer to communicate in text format rather than by phone. Research has shown that 65% of respondents prefer texting when interacting with colleagues or clients, while only 35% are inclined to talk on the phone.
Text messages are considered more convenient for communicating with colleagues and clients (57% for texting vs. 35% for calls), and for requests from stores, delivery services, etc. (70% vs. 30% for calls). In other situations, 78% of respondents prefer to correspond, and only 22% are ready to communicate by phone.
Attitude towards calls
In general, 57% of citizens have a normal attitude towards telephone calls, while 22% accept them only with prior agreement. Every fifth respondent chooses texting instead of talking on the phone.
However, calls from companies with promotions and service offers irritate 80% of respondents. Only 20% have a positive attitude towards such challenges if the offer is truly useful.
Ukrainians are wary of calls from unfamiliar numbers: 55% find them annoying, 45% are neutral about them. The main reasons for the negative attitude were the lack of benefit from such calls (68%) and the negative experience of relatives or friends (18%).
Call identification
At the same time, 94% of respondents would like to automatically find out who is calling from an unknown number (72% - definitely yes, 19% - in some cases , 3% – if the company calls).
To check unknown contacts, 16% of Ukrainians look for information on the Internet, 13% use specialized programs, 11% use the Rakuten Viber messenger. Over the past three months, 53% of respondents blocked unknown numbers.
