Streamer from the deck
Re-equipment of a rare deck
Electronics lover Unchecked_arrogance turned a retro tape recorder Sony TC-WR770 with two cassette branches into a wireless digital music streamer. A touch display with Raspberry Pi 3 B+ is installed in one compartment, and the second retains the cassette playback function. The transformer from the deck powers a mini-computer, which serves as a media player and allows you to stream music via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Integration of compatible components
An enthusiast built additional USB and Ethernet output connectors into the converted deck digital and analog audio signal. An SSD drive has also been added for storing media files. The software shell is MoOde Audio Player, compatible with streaming services like Spotify and Bluetooth connections. Control is carried out via a touch screen or remotely via the network.
A successful remake of a rarity
Upgrading a vintage tape recorder into a streamer is a creative solution for reviving a retro technology while preserving its historical value. The master plans to improve the project by adding support for original control buttons via Raspberry Pi GPIO ports. The harmonious combination of old and new makes this hybrid a true hit among connoisseurs of retro gadgets.

Yes, well done dude! It's a great idea to give old equipment a new life. Vintage and futuristic at the same time 😎 I remember my parents and I often listened to music on such cassette decks

I agree, it's a cool idea. It seems to be old, but inside there is in fact a whole multimedia center. Wifi, Spotify, Bluetooth - everything is on board 👌 And in terms of design it looks very cool!

Eh, when I was young, all we did was record music on cassettes 😂 And now young people are turning them into high-tech gizmos. Times change, nothing can be done 🙄

The very idea of converting old equipment into something modern is wonderful! But to be honest, it seems to me that this is a rather difficult project to implement at home 🤔 I would not be able to assemble such a thing myself

Heh, at my age and with my pension, I’d rather buy a regular music speaker and listen to the radio. All these technological things are not for me 😒 Why the hell do I need a cassette tape with a touch screen and the Internet?
