New Google Meet feature - seamless transfer of video calls between devices
Google Meet now lets you seamlessly switch video calls between different devices without losing the connection, thanks to the new Switch here feature.
New transition
Transferring a call to another device
Google Meet has been updated and now supports transferring a video call between different gadgets. The user can start a conversation on a smartphone or tablet and then switch to a laptop if necessary. The reverse transition is also possible - starting a call on a computer and then switching to a mobile device.
During a conversation, the “Switch here” icon will appear in the updated application. Clicking this button initiates the migration process to the new gadget without losing connection. This will turn off the source device. However, you can keep the connection on both devices by selecting the "Other joining options" option in Meet.
Cross-platform compatibility
New functionality lets you move video calls between PCs, iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. The rollout of the update has already begun, but full implementation may take several weeks.

I often encounter a situation where I start a call on my smartphone and then move on to my laptop. Previously, you had to reconnect, which was not very convenient. Now everything is much simpler. 🙌

Phew, again some new useless things. 😒 In my time, we just came to the office and talked face to face. Why all this complexity with different devices?
