Ukraine plans to produce thousands of long-range drones by 2024, which will be able to strike deep into Russian territory. This was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, in an interview with Reuters.

Development of the Ukrainian military drone industry
Ukraine is actively developing the military drone industry and is working on creation of drones capable of reaching Moscow and St. Petersburg. There are currently ten companies developing long-range drones in the country, and the category of kamikaze drones with ranges of 300, 500, 700 and 1,000 kilometers is becoming increasingly popular.
Ukraine's progress in the field of drones
Recent drone attacks on Russian oil refining facilities testify about significant progress of Ukraine in this field. The state is actively deregulating the drone market and increasing funding for military technology startups. With the help of the BRAVE1 initiative, military startups are given development grants, and the volume of production and supply of drones is increasing every year.
The role of private companies in Ukraine
Ukraine differs from Russia in that most drone manufacturers are private companies, not public companies. Only one out of ten companies developing drones capable of reaching Moscow or St. Petersburg belongs to the state.
