This is not a graphics card: MSI's unique M.2 Xpander-Aero Slide extension for super-fast PCIe 5.0 SSDs
MSI has introduced the innovative Xpander-Aero Slider for SSD storage expansion, combining high performance and efficient cooling in a compact design.
SSD Expander
Advanced Design
MSI's Xpander-Aero Slider looks like a graphics card, but is designed to be completely other purposes. This is an M.2 PCIe 5.0 SSD expander equipped with a cooling system similar to that used in the entry-level MSI Aero line of graphics cards. The device accommodates two M.2 22100 SSDs and is hot-swappable, allowing users to remove drives at any time if necessary.
Efficient cooling
For optimal cooling of installed SSDs, the Xpander-Aero Slider uses a system fan MSI Aero cooling. Users can choose between automatically adjusting fan speed or turning off cooling completely when the drives do not require intensive cooling.
Indication and power
According to MSI, Xpander supports 4 LED status indicators for each of installed M.2 SSDs. The device has a single 6-pin power connector, although regular power via the PCIe slot is sufficient for two Gen 5 drives. Aero Slider from the M.2 Xpander-Z Gen 5 adapter that ships with MSI MEG AMD X670E motherboards. The new device is expected to be released in a few months, and it could become an accessory for future AMD X870E and Intel Z890 boards.

Interesting new product from MSI! They seem to be seriously busy developing new technologies for SSDs. 👍 I can't wait for this expansion card to come out.

I don't understand all the fuss about PCIe 5.0. Isn't the performance of modern SSDs sufficient for most tasks? 🤔 It seems to me that this is just a marketing ploy.
Александр
Anna, maybe that’s enough for you, but there are tasks where every megabyte counts. Professional video shooting, editing and rendering, working with large databases - this is where high read/write speeds come in handy. 💻

Guys, this is MSI! They always have cool stuff. 😎 I can already imagine playing the latest super-loaded games with an SSD like this. Mmmm, yummy!

Phew, these useless bells and whistles again. In my time, computers worked without any SSDs and it was fine. 😠 It would be better to spend the money on something useful.

Victor, times change, technologies develop. 🙂 Of course, you can do without new products, but why give up progress? Fast SSDs open up new possibilities for work and play.

Here's what I thought: what about combining several of these cards into a RAID 0 array? 🤯 This would be a productivity bomb for professionals!

Hmm, interesting idea, Pavel! 💡 What if we add liquid cooling for maximum performance? Although this is probably too much for home use. 😄
